Welcome to My little Corner of the internet
If you found your way here, chances are you love a good story. Well, you’re in the right place — because storytelling is kind of my whole thing.
I'm Jake Dietz: proud husband, dad to six amazing kids, and a guy who genuinely believes that a great story can change your day — maybe even your life. It doesn’t matter if it’s a movie, a TV series, a book, a comic, or a random graphic novel I picked up on a whim. Good storytelling sticks with you. It stays. It means something.
That’s what I’m here to talk about — and hopefully share with all of you.
Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to dive deep into this world in a few pretty cool ways. I’ve been a panelist at FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention more times than I can count, getting to nerd out alongside other fans about the movies, characters, and moments that shaped us. I’m also one of the voices behind Movies That Make Us, a long-running podcast where we take a book-club approach to breaking down films we love (and sometimes love to debate). I’ve even hopped on other podcasts as a guest, just for the chance to keep those conversations going.
But even with all that, I still wanted a space where everything could live together. A place where I could share my reviews, my reactions, my random thoughts — all in one spot. That’s what this site is about. If it makes you think, if it makes you laugh, if it makes you want to yell at me because you completely disagree with my take... perfect. That’s the point. Stories are meant to be talked about.
Speaking of stories, you’ll probably notice another thing about me pretty fast: I wear my fandoms. Literally.
I’m rarely seen without a colorful shirt shouting out something I love — from Star Wars to Saturday morning cartoons — and I usually top it off with a smart cap for a little extra flair. (What can I say? A guy’s gotta have his signature style.) It’s a fun way to show off the things that matter to me and maybe spark a few conversations along the way.
This site isn’t meant to be just my place to talk. It’s meant to be our place to connect. Whether you want to share your own thoughts, argue about whether the book was better than the movie, recommend a hidden gem, or just find your next obsession, I hope you’ll jump into the conversation.
Follow me on [Instagram] and [Facebook] to keep up with all the latest — new posts, podcast updates, random fits, and plenty of colorful chaos.
And one last thing before you click over to the next page:
Be kind to yourself and to others. Remember, you matter. This world is better because you are here, so stick around.
